Leadership Team – Rhone Energies

Rhone Energies is jointly owned by Trafigura and Entara, following their acquisition of the Fos-sur-Mer Refinery in 2024. This governance model combines the commercial strength of a global commodities trading leader with the industrial expertise of an energy specialist. Together, they share a clear ambition: to transform the asset into a competitive and flexible site, developing low carbon transition projects.

Industrial Operations & Transformation

As co-owner, Entara leads the industrial operations of the site and ensures safety, reliability and operational performance. Its role focuses on improving energy efficiency, developing transition projects such as bio-processing, future hydrogen network connections and electrification, and progressively reconfiguring the refinery to respont to evolving market needs.

Commercial Strategy &
Market Positioning

As co-owner, Trafigura drives the commercial strategy and secures market outlets for the site in France and internationally. Its contributions include strengthening the local commercial presence through dedicated expertise on the French market, optimising domestic sales through efficient logistics, and maximising product value in line with LPG market opportunities. This commercial expertise reinforces Fos’s position as a key supplier for Southern France.

REFos - Operational Excellence on Site

The refinery teams continue to implement the strategic roadmap defined by the shareholders. Their priorities include continuous improvement of safety and reliability, the evolution of logistics infrastructure for receipt, storage and dispatch, and preparation for co-processing and increased feedstock flexibility. REFos also strengthens local synergies with long-standing partners, notably through the PIICTO industrial platform.

A Unified Governance to Transform Fos-sur-Mer Refinery

Thanks to the complementary strengths of Entara and Trafigura, Rhone Energies benefits from strong and committed leadership. This governance model supports short-term competitiveness, enables the low-carbon transition and positions Fos as a long-term player in European refining.
